What Sick Looks Like

After the excitement of Jackson's birth we decided to top that off by all getting sick ... throwing up, fever, coughing, etc. Mathis started the festivities on Tuesday night when Jackson was just a week and a half old. By Thursday, Bard and Kate were sick and despite Jackson and I quarantining ourselves in the bedroom, I fell prey on Saturday and our poor baby Jackson got sick on the next Tuesday. It's amazing that we can look back on it with some humor now because it was an incredibly tough week!! Here are some pictures that describe exactly how we were feeling ... as you can see, Kate had a rough time of it. After a week of being sick we were never so happy to have the kids running through the house being their usual rowdy selves and smiling!!



Bard was such a trooper!! He slept on the floor of the kids' rooms for nearly a week and cared for them through the night. Kate has definitely grown incredibly attached to him after that week ... he carried her in the sling for a good portion of several days. He's such an amazing dad, I'm so thankful for him!
