Catch-Up Post #2

Kate's Tree ... we picked out a Cherry tree to plant Kate's placenta under, just a few days after her first birthday. It's so special to think that the same organ that helped her grow so strong in the womb will help her tree flourish.

The first of our vegetable seedlings ready to be planted ... so exciting. Broccoli, swiss chard, and cilantro. We're still learning but we love growing our own food. We want our children to know where our food comes from and appreciate the beauty of watching a tiny seed grow into a plant that produces fruit for us to enjoy. It's also the cheapest way for us to get our vegetables organic ... the way God intended for them to live!

The second weekend in May we had Emma and Jared stay with us while their parents attended a homeschool conference. Wow, what a lot of fun and what a lot of work :)

We spent one night playing in the yard and Emma loved babying Kate. This is "Kate's" car and she can climb in and out of it by herself. We call it her royal carriage because she loves to lean back and relax while we push her around the yard, which Emma was more than glad to do.

After Kate got out, Emma tried to see if she would fit in and Baby Kate crawled right around to the back and tried to push her ... so cute!

The next night we had Emma and Jared, we took them to a nearby State Park for a picnic. We walked across the swinging bridge, took a little hike, and played on the playground. Mathis loved playing on the playground. He was so serious as he climbed up the rock mountain, went down the slide, and up the mountain again. I could barely snap any pictures of him.

This picture is a great depiction of our boy. Always in motion!

Although, he did stop to flash this wonderful "picture" smile!

Celebrating a great climb :)
