Day 4 - June 30

Day 4

First order of business ... build a small wall on both sides of the house to provide a level place for the trusses to rest (hope that makes sense!)

The whole crew was here to raise the trusses (Bard, Rob, Matthew, Travis, Rich, my dad, Randy, Brad, Alec)
.

While putting up the trusses the guys had to walk on the ceiling joists that were under the removed roof. A couple of missteps led to a couple of holes in our inside ceiling. Here in the kitchen ... (see the dust pouring in :)

Another in the bedroom ... the t-shirt you see hanging from the ceiling was Bard's attempt to plug a tiny hole from the night before in order to keep out the mosquitoes. The house was open in so many places it was not an easy task.

Rich under a truss after a fall. Thankfully, no one was hurt, too badly.

Nearly finished!!

Travis and the snake that was living under the trusses.

All the trusses up and half the roof decked ... amazing what was accomplished in one day. Go back to the first picture in this post to see the difference.

From the other side, showing the decking.
