Fun at the Fire Expo

We had a beautiful fall day to enjoy the 2007 Fire Expo. Our county fire training institute puts on a great day of all things fire, and Mathis couldn't have been more excited. Bard told him on Monday that we were going to go on Saturday and every day he asked if it was time to go yet. He and Bard took a ride in the fire engine with sirens blaring. Here are some pictures of our day.

That's a big wheel and bigger smile!

Mathis putting out the fire with the help of a fireman.

Relaxing in the ambulance stretcher. Not so bad!

How cute is he ... he just perfected his camera smile ... love it! He really was this happy getting to sit in the driver's seat of a real fire engine!

Mathis made quick friends with this fireman who put him up in his own seat.

Waving from the fire truck just like the real firemen do.

This was as close as we got to Sparky the Fire Dog. Mathis has an aversion to anything in costume. Kate jumped right out of the stroller and walked up to him, but when he reached his hand out she backed out.
