Our trip to the Zoo

What fun, our first trip to the Zoo! Mathis was quite amazed to see the animals in real life size. In the pictures we took, he looks quite uninterested, but he was really trying to process everything :) It was cool and overcast, with a few raindrops here and there, but it didn't stop us from enjoying the day. We walked a lot and were so tired when we got home. Mathis slept for 4 hours!!

Here he is on a lion, looking so nonchalant. This was a neat picture for me, since I have one of myself as a little girl on this same lion. I'll have to hunt that down and compare :)

Kate took the whole day in stride, enjoying her view from my back. By noon she had sacked out. Mathis was very concerned that the elephant had something on his back. His funny expression is due to him chowing down on some cheese :)

This was his favorite part of the day (besides running up and down the walkways with his friends). In the barnyard area the kids went into the goat pen and brushed their hair. The goats acted like they weren't even there and spend most of their time eating hay.

Mathis wasn't too thrilled about sitting on this turtle. It didn't look at all like fun, but instead like a big scary thing. As you can see, Kate could care less :)

We're looking forward to going back with Bard when school is over.
